Lunar Tails: Ruminations on Animals of the Chinese Zodiac

Barb Snyder & Corey Mah
April 4 to 29, 2018
Opening night: Fri Apr 6, 6:30 to 9:30pm

This spring, in the Year of the Dog, Corey Mah (“amiable Rat”) and Barb Snyder (“mischievous Monkey”) present work exploring the animals of the Chinese zodiac. The Chinese animal zodiac, or shengxiao (‘born resembling’), is a repeating cycle of 12 years, with each year being represented by an animal and its reputed attributes. With both humour and reverence, Barb and Corey ask: What stories can be told (or imagined) and what beliefs or scepticism can be promulgated by this eastern zodiac?
