New Prints by
Thursday, May 25 from 6 to 9pm
Using a variety of 2 and 3D materials and combining printmaking techniques (monotype, serigraph, digital and relief) Alexa explores multiple matters. In her pieces, a daily activity takes on larger connotations or a collage of seemingly unconnected items can take on new meaning. Collectively, the work encourages the viewer to reflect on “matters” and to raise questions. What matters? What is the matter? Does it matter?
Palm Trees and Bat Caves
Jesse Kvarnstrom & Rosalind Rorke
April 26 to May 21,2017
The works in this exhibition reflect our mutual understanding of creativity and art production as sanctuary from the pressures and anxieties which are part of everyday life. The images are, as the title suggests, an escape from the negative and unpalatable aspects of contemporary existence such as the superficiality of the 24 hr news cycle or the ever increasing influence of social media.
Railroaded by Leonard Brett
March 29 – April 23
Opening Reception: Saturday April 1, 3-6 pm
Leonard Brett’s new period of exploration of many different ideas rather than a theme follows in the footsteps of Francis Picabia who named this mode of production ‘relache’ or relaxed. This multi directional quest has opened a door into new territory resulting in a freedom of expression and a wealth of varied images that push the boundaries of printmaking.
