Beyond the Basics: Advanced Gel Plate

Service Description

This workshop is for those who already know the fundamentals of printing with a gel plate. We will push the boundaries of what is possible, with several image transfer techniques, using laser prints of your own drawings or photographs, wrapping paper and magazine pages. Combining multiple techniques and layers in a single-pull print, drawing on the plate with acrylic paint or coloured markers and using the gel plate in a more painterly way will also be explored. Join us to expand your printmaking skillset in an atmosphere of exploration and discovery. Materials: Students to bring their own supplies. Jennifer will email them a supply list detailing requirements for their laser prints (important), best paints to bring, etc. The class will be using mostly acrylic paints, including Golden OPEN. Jennifer has been an artist and teacher for over 40 years. She studied textile arts at Capilano College in North Vancouver and was a founding member of Foxglove Fibre Arts Studio/Gallery on Bowen Island. From 2004 to 2014, she was the BC Representative for the international organization, Surface Design Association (SDA). She has exhibited and taught workshops on the Sunshine Coast, Vancouver Island, Bowen Island, Saltspring Island, Vancouver and Calgary.

Cancellation Policy

PAYMENT OPTIONS VISA, Master Card, or Debit. WITHDRAWALS With more than two weeks notice, DPW will refund fees minus a $30 administrative fee. With less than two weeks notice, DPW will refund fees minus a $50 administrative fee. CANCELLATIONS Courses may occasionally be cancelled due to insufficient enrollment or unforeseen circumstances. Should DPW cancel a course, we will issue a full refund or credit.
