Service Description
Dive into the centuries-old world of relief printmaking by learning how to transform and deconstruct your drawings into multiples with the help of carving tools and a printing press. A process that Phil Sanders in Prints and Their Makers describes as "[providing] us with a rare window into an artist’s studio practice, thinking, and process." This workshop is suitable for those new to printmaking or printmakers who would like to get experience using a printing press. In this course, students will become familiar with a printmaking studio, and learn how to transfer their drawings onto various surfaces, linoleum carving and inking techniques, image registration, and setting up and pulling prints on a printing press. Students will conclude the course with their very own edition of prints.
